什么是脑震荡?
A concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury—or TBI—caused by a bump, 打击, or jolt to the head or by a hit to the body that causes the head and brain to move quickly back and forth. This fast movement can cause the brain to bounce around or twist in the skull, creating chemical changes in the brain and sometimes stretching and damaging the brain cells.

如果有学生运动员出现 concussion-like signs and reports symptoms following contact to the head, 他们至少有, sustained a mild traumatic brain injury and should be treated for the injury. A student athlete who has signs or symptoms of a concussion shall be removed from practice or competition for the remainder of that day. A medical professional will then evaluate and determine the best plan of management for that student-athlete. 如果有学生运动员出现

The ImPACT Test is a FDA cleared concussion assessment and management tool. 99499威尼斯信誉 utilizes the ImPACT Test as a measure post-concussion to determine if a student has returned to ‘normal’ cognitive and physical functioning. Th ImPACT Test is not a stand-alone assessment and is one of multiple measures the Foxcroft Health Center and athletic training staff use to track a student-athlete’s recovery from concussion. All Foxcroft student-athletes are required to complete an ImPACT baseline to be eligible to participate in Foxcroft sanctioned athletic and/or riding activity.

If a student-athlete is placed into the Concussion Protocol all of the following must occur before returning to play:
- Completed Return to Learn: able to attend all classes and complete all homework assignments.
- Symptom free for at least 24 hours: after which they can start the Return to Play or Return to Ride Protocol.
- Complete the Return to Play or Return to Ride Protocol: A 5 step/day process that starts with very minimal activity and increases in intensity each day.

The athletic training clinic is open from 3:30 - 6:00 pm Monday through Friday, or by appointment.
